When I first discovered Umbraco, I wanted to quickly find out what it could do for me, without spending time working out how to install and use it. I'm not saying the information wasn't out there, it just seemed to be spread out across a number of websites meaning I'd have to collate this information myself.
Eventually, after much 'Googling', I did manage to piece together enough information to get a site live... but I knew I'd had an advantage...You see, I've specialised in the CMS industry for the past eight years, so knew exactly what to expect from a Content Management System and how it should behave.
The problem
This got me thinking... What would someone less experienced then me do, if they wanted to create a simple Umbraco business site, but didn't know where to start... I quickly concluded many would lose interest and give up.
So I thought, why not create a website that contained all the things I wished I'd known when I first started... A site that would show, step by step, how an Umbraco novice could get their own business site live on the internet.
This website was created to do just that. It explains everything a total Umbraco novice needs to do in order to create their own simple Umbraco business website that's live on the internet, all without the need for any design or coding skills.
